Frequently asked questions
Wood-wool (khus) pads or honeycomb — which is better?
Honeycomb cools slightly better, needs less frequent replacement (1–2 seasons vs yearly), and stays cleaner. Wood-wool is cheaper upfront and smells pleasant when fresh. We fit either — for daily use through a full summer, honeycomb usually wins on total cost.
My desert cooler throws air but the pads stay dry. What's wrong?
The pump has failed or scaled up, the water-distributor channels are blocked, or the float valve isn't letting the tank fill. All three are pre-season service staples — after the visit you should see even water film across every pad.
Can a desert cooler be window-mounted like an AC?
Yes — many models are designed for window ducting so the cooler sits outside and blows in, which cools better and saves floor space. We install the frame, seal the opening, and set up drainage. Trolley conversion is possible for most window models too.
