Plate spins, light works, but food stays cold. Repair cost?
That symptom set points to the magnetron circuit — magnetron, HV diode, capacitor, or fuse. The exact part decides the price, quoted from the rate card after a 15-minute diagnosis. In most solo units the repair is decisively cheaper than replacement.
Is a sparking microwave dangerous?
Stop using it until checked — arcing damages the magnetron over time. The usual cause is harmless to fix: a carbonised waveguide cover or exposed metal in the cavity. The technician replaces the cover, touches up the cavity, and tests before clearing it.
The buttons don't respond on some rows. Fixable?
Yes — that's the membrane keypad wearing out, a known age issue. Depending on the model we replace the membrane or the control panel. If the model's parts are discontinued, we tell you upfront instead of experimenting at your cost.
