Frequently asked questions
How often does a kitchen chimney need deep cleaning?
For daily Indian cooking, every 4–6 months. Baffle filters can be maintained at home between services, but the blower wheel and internal housing collect a grease layer only a full strip-down clean removes — that's what restores suction.
My chimney is on but smoke still fills the kitchen. Why?
Either the filters and blower are grease-choked (most common), the duct run has too many bends or a blocked outlet, or the motor has weakened. A service visit measures suction, cleans the airway end to end, and tells you honestly if the motor needs work.
Auto-clean chimney — does it still need servicing?
Yes. Auto-clean handles the oil collector cup, but grease still builds on the blower and inner housing over time. Auto-clean models need professional cleaning less often — roughly yearly — but not never.
Can you install a chimney where there's no external wall?
Yes — a ductless (recirculating) setup with carbon filters works without an outlet, though ducted suction is always stronger. If a duct is possible, we route it with the fewest bends; every extra 90° bend costs real suction.
