What height should a wall chimney be above the stove?
65–75 cm above the hob for most models — close enough to capture smoke, far enough to be safe over open flames. Our installation marks and mounts to the manufacturer's spec, and we correct wrongly-mounted units too.
Auto-clean chimney — what does the auto-clean actually do?
It heats and spins accumulated oil off the blower into a collector cup — helpful, but it doesn't clean the baffle filters or the housing interior. Auto-clean models still need a professional deep-clean, just less often (roughly yearly with daily cooking).
My chimney's suction has dropped badly. Motor gone?
Usually not — grease-choked baffles and blower are the cause in most cases, and a deep clean restores the pull. If suction is still weak after cleaning, we test the motor and check the duct run for blockage or too many bends, then quote honestly.
