How is this calculated?+
Bands follow BIS IS-10500 drinking-water guidance combined with field experience from Yantra4All technicians.
- < 50 ppm — over-pure, mineral-poor water (rainwater, certain hill sources)
- 50–200 ppm — soft water, often municipal supply
- 200–500 ppm — moderate, the most common Indian urban range
- 500–1000 ppm — hard water (typical of borewell-fed colonies)
- > 1000 ppm — very hard, often co-occurring with iron/fluoride
This tool gives a starting recommendation. For specific contaminants (arsenic, fluoride, iron, microbiology), book a paid water test.
